Charme de Fonbadet

North of the village of Saint-Lambert, the vineyard of Château Fondabet has a choice location, in the middle of the most famous “domaines” of the Pauillac appellation. Fondabet, the place which gave its name to the “domaine”, is a typical place of the terroir of Médoc, a combination of the Gascon words “fon” (meaning fountain) and “badet” (meaning small valley). In the Middle Ages, the “domaine” was part of the Château Latour “domaine” and it turned out that the vineyards were planted very early at this period.

Of a pale yellow and green colour, this Bordeaux Blanc is a medium body wine and offers a remarkable concentration, intensity and freshness with all the subtle aromas of citrus fruits from the grape varieties of Sauvignon Blanc. The nose (aroma) is intense, the mouth (taste) is fresh and aromatic revealing soft grapefruit and delicate hints of flint with a touch of oak.

Food and wine pairing : Pre-dinner drink or with seafood and fish.

La Rosée de Fonbadet

If the vineyard of Bordeaux is mainly known for its production of red wine (86 % of the total production), the rosé wines are not second/lower wines. Their producers wanted to make people discover their savoir-faire/skill on other colours of wines, to offer new opportunities to drink their wines and to find new consumers.

La Rosée de Fondabet is a case in point. Permeated with the philosophy of the Fondabet vineyard, this rosé couldn’t better reflect the characteristics of the terroir where it has been cultivated.
