A TERROIR OF CLASSIFIED GRAND CRU

Terroir de graves

The sites of the terroirs of Domaines Peyronie are situated on deep knolls of Graves with a well-carved profile, with an altitude ranging from 14 to 22 metres.

These soils constitute, by their very nature, the main geopodological element of the terroirs of Classified Grand Crus, from Margaux to Saint-Julien, from Pauillac to Saint-Estèphe.

The nature of the Graves soils and colluviums of the Château Fondabet vineyards is therefore identical to the one of the Medoc Classified Grand Crus.

THREE DIFFERENT ENTITIES

The first one, the northernmost of the appellation, is surrounded by the Mouton Rothschild on 13 hectares.

The second one is situated in The Pauillac area and contiguous to Lynch-Bages with 3 hectares.

The third one is bordering Pichon-longueville-Baron with 4 hectares.

The Fondabet terroir is made up of three distinct entities.

TO OFFER WINE ITS COMPLEXITY

The Fondabet terroir presents extremely favorable factors for the growing of vine.

Deep knolls of Graves which are favourable for the deep rooting of the vine.

An excellent sunlight exposure due to a North-West orientation.

The proximity of the river which immerses the whole vineyard in its microclimate.

The natural drainage of the streaming waters thanks to the slope.

All these elements thus offer wine its complexity.
